Visits to shelter

Our shelter is not a zoo; therefore, we would like for you to come here with a purpose in mind. This purpose may be to adopt a new pet, look for a lost pet, volunteer your time to help the shelter, or to learn about the shelter.
Our shelter has its own specific security risks, and we want you to understand that the shelter is primarily a temporary home for unfortunate homeless animals and not a place to show cute puppies and kitties.
Therefore, we have set out some restrictions to guarantee the safety of our visitors and our animals. You can find more detailed information about our rules in the Shelter Rules and Regulations.

The shelter is open to visitors
Tuesday through Friday
from 2 pm to 6 pm,
and on Saturdays from 12 pm to 4 pm

Sunday is a day of rest for our animals, and Monday is our large-scale cleaning day.
Visiting hours can change depending upon the season or national holidays. Please refer to our webpage and Facebook page for information about our visiting hours.
The shelter’s door is locked 24 hours a day due to incidences of stealing in the past. Please call the shelter’s main phone number to schedule a visit.

RULES REGARDING GROUPS

We define a “group” as multiple people who are not relatives (i.e. friends, co-workers, and classmates). Groups must always be escorted by a shelter worker while on the shelter’s property.

Please call us at +372 533 39272 prior to your group’s visit to schedule an appointment.

Generally, our schedule allows us to receive groups of visitors on weekdays (Tuesday through Friday) between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., but it is always necessary to schedule an appointment by phone because all groups must be escorted by a shelter worker who can explain the various aspects, rules, and regulations of our shelter. If two groups were to arrive at the same time, we might not have enough shelter workers available to escort both groups.

A maximum of 10 visitors are allowed on the shelter’s property at one time (for visiting children, an additional amount of accompanying caregivers is allowed). For groups larger than 10 individuals, we suggest dividing the group in half and taking two tours. The second group is welcome to wait, or they can come when the first group’s visit has ended. Visits usually last about 30 to 45 minutes.
