Tartu city announces public procurements in every 5 years to manage the shelter. This procurement period runs until December 31, 2028.
In 2006 was founded a non-profit organization Assisi Franciscuse Selts which included the workers of shelter.
So on the principle of procurement, the NGO Assisi Franciscuse Selts has been in charge of shelter from 2006 and run the place all these years until today. From the same year, the shelter was also named as Shelter for Homeless Animals of Tartu.
